The School Safety, Security and Student Success Coordinator will report to the COO and exemplify Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas’s mission, vision, and core values. The School Safety, Security and Student Success Coordinator will oversee all disciplinary issues and ensure all students, faculty, staff, and parents are provided with the necessary support in a safe and secure campus environment.
The School Safety, Security and Student Success Coordinator serves as a member of the Central Office team to oversee the daily functions of the school sites by performing the following;

Manages the implementation of school policies and procedures at all CASLV campuses.

Oversees the student supervision and discipline at all CASLV campuses.

Provides administration, teachers, and staff coaching and support.
-
Helps schools with parent and student concerns and communications.
-
Conducts visits to campuses to check the safety and security of campuses
-
Communicates with school stakeholders on a regular basis.
-
Oversees the implementation of the School Safety Plan.
-
Creates and supports a data-driven culture.
-
Serve as the primary liaison for all disciplinary communications on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer.

Process and adjudicate all appeals related to disciplinary actions, ensuring a fair and transparent procedure is adhered to.

Prepare and present disciplinary cases at district board meetings.
-
Ensure all incidents are well-documented, factually accurate, and communicated in a timely manner.

Collaborate with campus administrators and staff to collect and verify evidence about disciplinary cases.
-
Ensures each school’s discipline committee is fully trained and complies with school policies and state regulations.

Ensures that the evidence-collection process upholds legal and ethical standards.
-
Assist in the development and revision of district-wide discipline policies.
-
Monitors the use of the systems and the software including but not limited to Raptor, SWIS, Infinite Campus
-
Follows up on the license renewals of the districtwide software/programs used for discipline, safety, and security
-
Any additional duties in regards to discipline, safety, and security assigned by the Chief Operating Officer
SCHOOL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides professional development on School Safety Plan and staff responsibilities.

Develops and trains staff on strategies against bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, and discrimination
-
Develops and schedules drug, tobacco, and alcohol intervention assemblies and provides presentations, training, and strategies for students and parents.
-
Manages and provides supervision for student and parent events.
-
Provides training on school wide expectations and classroom management strategies
-
Works with special education department to coordinate safety plans as needed
-
Inspects the Material Safety & Data Sheets at each campus
SCHOOL SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Develops and revises emergency operations plans with the school administration annually
-
Provides professional development on Emergency Operations Plan and staff responsibilities.
-
Ensures and monitors the timely completion of emergency drills and provides support to campus leadership as needed
-
Ensures campuses are implementing staff, visitor, and student check-in procedures and policies
-
Creates and/or improves procedures and policies to keep school campuses secure
-
Performs routine security audits of CASLV campuses
-
Create and strengthen relationships with emergency personnel and first responders for CASLV campuses, including jurisdictional emergency management personnel, police departments, fire departments, and public health department
STUDENT DISCIPLINE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports faculty and staff to develop student behavioral expectations.
-
Models and reinforces school wide behavioral expectations.
-
Manages the implementation of student behavioral plans with the student support team.
-
Provides classroom observational feedback for faculty and staff.
-
Provide explicit modeling of implementation of behavior expectations for staff, including classroom lesson modeling.
-
Provides campus recommendations and feedback on investigations, documentation and handling of student incidents.

Approves student suspension letters in accordance with CASLV Discipline Code
-
Provides behavior feedback and support for students and parents.
-
Analyzes and reports on student behavioral and suspension trends.
-
Oversees office referrals and a discipline database system
-
Provides guidance to campuses for suspension and referral appeals
-
Schedule restorative justice meetings with faculty, staff, students, and parents.
-
Provide referrals to wraparound service providers in the school’s community.
-
Collects and presents disciplinary data as required by the CASLV Board, SPCSA, and NV DOE
-
Other duties as assigned to support the school's operational and academic priorities.
