The Prince William Public Libraries are currently seeking substitute Library Technicians to assist patrons at branches throughout the County. Do you have some free time? Are you looking for an opportunity to build professional relationships within a diverse community and team?
Substitute staff are very important to the operations of the Prince William Public Libraries by providing exceptional service to patrons during busy periods.
Flexibility is a must. Positions are available at various branches throughout the Prince William Public Libraries.
About This Role: Substitute staff provide exceptional internal and external customer service by:
Responds to patron inquiries.
Checks books in / out.
Interprets library policy and procedures for patrons.
Handles cash and prepares daily reports.
Processes damaged/missing materials.
Assists with preparing programming supplies and other activities.
Minimum Requirements: Highschool diploma or G.E.D.
Preference:
Scheduling flexibility is a must.
Flexibility to adapt to changing work assignments, as needed.
Exceptional customer service skills and time management skills.
Experience assisting with outreach efforts.
Experience working with diverse customers in a fast-paced environment.
Some familiarity with Library resources.
Proficient with MS Word, Outlook.
Special Requirements:
Work Schedule: These are substitute, as needed positions, therefore there is no guarantee of hours. These will not become permanent positions. Substitutes must accept a minimum of one offered assignment in a 3-month period to retain substitute status.
Starting Salary Range: $21.14 Per hour
