AQUATICS COORDINATOR - Job Posting
The Claremont Club is searching for an individual who is kind, patient, and tolerant, and
who possesses excellent communication skills. As part of the aquatics team, this
individual will assist in leading a team of motivated and energetic instructors, lifeguards
and coaches while being instrumental in organizing the office, its programs and events.
Knowledge of and/or experience with the competitive sport of swimming is preferred but
not required.

The Claremont Club Aquatics Department promotes a healthy lifestyle through fitness in

standards to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere in which to learn and train. Safety,
health, friendship, and camaraderie are hallmarks of this department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● To create and deepen relationships with Members and non members
participating in programs that enhance their sense of community within the club.
● Assist in the recruiting, hiring and training of swim instructors, lifeguards and
coaches.
● Know and enforce all Club and Aquatics Department policies consistently and
fairly.
● Create group and private lesson guidelines and schedules
● Work with marketing to plan, promote and execute aquatic programs/events.
● Ensure the swim office is safe, clean, and organized.
● Ensure all life-saving equipment is available and proper use of such equipment.
● Attend staff meetings as scheduled by the Aquatics Manager.
● Assist the Aquatics Manager with payroll as needed.
● Schedule and coordinate lessons, classes, and shifts for all aquatics staff.
● Assist in teaching lessons and classes, or in coaching practices, as needed
● Maintain Swim School calendar.
● Learn all Aquatics department program offerings and be conversant in each.
● Assist swim team with administrative and program support.
● Promote team building and high standards of excellence
● Be a mentor for all trainers
● Maintain inventories of office materials and forms; reorder as necessary
● Ensure the environment is safe, clean organized and well maintained
● Ensure proper care is taken of all property, equipment and supplies
● Adhere to all Club standards, policies and procedures

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
● Arrive to work on time
● Work the hours scheduled with a minimum of changes
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
● Able to write, read, speak, hear and see
● Typing and computer operation
● Able to pass certification tests and meet Red Cross requirements for swimming
skills, lifesaving skills, water safety skills
● Standing for prolonged periods
● Working outdoors and exposed to sun (& other weather conditions) for prolonged
periods
● Bending, lifting and carrying (up to 40 lbs. – or more in the case of a pool rescue)
● Able to lift, carry and utilize safety equipment such as spinal board, ring buoy,
reaching pole, shepherds hook
● Able to project voice across crowded, noisy pool
● Walking, climbing elevated lifeguard chair
OTHER
● Proficient in Google Documents and knowledge of Google Sheets
● Knowledge of general database characteristics
● Experience with, or knowledge of, the sport of competitive swimming.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evenings as needed
- Rotating weekends
