Reporting into: Global Finance Director
Role + responsibilities
We are seeking a talented and experienced financial controller to join our team. The financial controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our us operations, under the supervision of our uk finance director. The financial controller will provide strategic guidance to management and ensure compliance with regional accounting standards and regulations. This role will also involve line management of one accounts payable coordinator.
1. Financial management: manage all financial activities of the us company, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and supporting the fd with all financial reporting.
2. Financial analysis: conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
3. Financial planning: develop and implement financial plans and strategies to support the us company's growth objectives.
4. Compliance: ensure compliance with us accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements.
5. Process improvement: identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements within the finance function.
6. Team management: provide leadership and guidance to the accounts payable coordinator, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions.
7. Vendor management: oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely payments.
8. Audit preparation: coordinate with external auditors and facilitate the audit process.
9. Internal controls: establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
10. Legal: reviewing master agreements with clients
11. Project budgets: working closely with project managers to review event budgets, assessing margins and cash flow planning throughout the cycle of the project.
12. Ad-hoc projects: participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; cpa or mba preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience working in events, experiential marketing, or related industries is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and erp systems; experience with xero or similar software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
