Duties:
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care and treatment
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
- Administer medications under the direction of healthcare providers
- Perform basic life support techniques if necessary
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and coding medical procedures
- Assist with medical billing and insurance claims
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Excellent patient service skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and provide compassionate care
- Proficiency in taking accurate vital signs and documenting patient information
- Familiarity with basic life support techniques and emergency response protocols
- Experience in medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
- Knowledge of medical coding systems and ability to accurately code procedures for billing purposes
- Familiarity with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols for patient care
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
