About the position:
This pivotal hands-on role serves as a crucial link between the organization and its audiences and will serve as a daily contributor to the development and execution of effective marketing tactics. Working alongside the Director of Email Marketing, you will execute AKF’s email marketing strategy which includes managing and documenting email testing tactics, developing email content and collaborating with members across the organization to support the promotion of kidney disease education, advocacy engagement, fundraising and public health initiatives. In addition, you will assist the Director of Email Marketing during an important migration from Luminate Online to Engaging Networks, ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining the program's integrity and pace.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively co-manage the scheduling, development and execution of over 300 email messages annually, driving strong performance across a variety of email campaigns and constantly refining communications across the constituents’ lifecycle
- Produce, maintain and monitor automated email communications and implement testing initiatives
- Execute audience selection criteria through audience queries by utilizing Luminate Online, Engaging Networks, and Raiser’s Edge software
- Ensure that personally identifiable and financial information are managed confidentially and securely
- Analyze monthly reports on email activity and recommend strategies to improve results
- Manage the digital newsletter schedule
- Collaborate with marketing, development, advocacy and education team members on strategies to grow AKF’s email database and collect first-party data
- Work closely with social media, communication, and website teams to increase the effectiveness of our campaigns across all digital touchpoints
- Collaborate with education and government relations departments on engaging, retaining and growing AKF’s patient and advocacy network
- Provide assistance for the team’s execution of marketing projects across the digital landscape
Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in a marketing or communications role (high volume email marketing experience is a plus)
- Non-profit fundraising experience required
- Proven ability to manage workflow and processes
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices and not-for-profit marketing
- Collaborative experience with department representatives, program and project management, and external vendors
- Well-organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication, problem-solving and project management skills and the ability to effectively manage deadlines, track and coordinate multiple projects and work independently within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online software proficiency required (Engaging Networks software proficiency is a big plus)
- Prior data migration experience is a plus
