Landscape crew managers are a vital part of the efficient and effective operation of landscape installation teams at Figgins Trees & Turf, Inc. They oversee landscape and hardscape projects as well as the crews performing the work. They also foster the relationship between the customer and the company to make sure projects exceed customer expectations as well as meeting project budgets and timelines. They are expected to understand how to read drawings and specifications and to compete the job to those standards. Strong basic math skills will be used almost daily. Hardscape projects that are expected to be competed include, but are not limited to patios, walkways, retaining walls, decorative walls, water features, natural stone features, and landscape lighting. Landscape projects include but are not limited to planting trees, bushes/shrubs and other small plants. They are responsible for dealing with clients in a respectful, professional, and patient way. They are also responsible for training crew members to ensure that they are performing according to company guidelines. Basic knowledge of light and heavy equipment is also needed on the job. They are responsible for making sure their entire crew is staying busy and working in the most productive way possible. In addition to overseeing the crew, the crew manager is also responsible for assisting in the completion of the job and making sure it is complete. They are also responsible for keeping accurate records and submitting all paperwork associated with the position such as timesheets, project plans, change orders, site photos and other records. They are in constant contact with the sales staff to ensure the client experience is top notch. They are responsible for having and maintaining a clean driving record and having a valid driver’s license. They are also required to keep all trucks, trailers and equipment looking clean and neat in appearance and making sure the interior of trucks and trailers are clean and organized. All crew managers have the opportunity to earn performance bonuses based on meeting project goals as well as upsell compensation opportunities.
