Job Title: New Intake Direct Support Professional Substitute
Job Type: Full-time (30+ hours)
Schedule/ Availability Needed: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm and every other weekend
Pay Rate: $23/hour ]
Location: Various homes/locations within the Twin Cities
Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional Substitute to work 1:1 with adults with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in human services and be able to handle challenging behaviors and all position requirements listed. The DSP Sub role will be working with new clients/new intakes at Dependable. This means travelling to various locations around the Twin Cities and working with a wide variety of individuals and being support staff until permanent staff is hired. You may be working at a location for 1 week or 3 weeks. See qualifications list below.

Requirements:

2 year's of relevant work experience

Driver's License, car insurance, reliable vehicle for work purposes

Ability to read, write and speak English at a level that meets the performance requirements; or must be able to communicate in the language spoken by the individual at a level that meets the performance requirements; whichever is deemed more important by the company

Ability to meet licensing requirements of the state and county

Lifting/transferring requirements vary based on assigned caseload. Ability to lift 75 pounds and transfer individuals as needed

May be exposed to animals, including but not limited to dogs, cats, pet rodents, birds or pet reptiles

Experience working with individuals who are prone to challenging behaviors

Must be comfortable performing personal cares with all types of individuals
