We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team in a primary care/urgent care setting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in phlebotomy, EKG administration, and all other medical assistant duties. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, providing flexible working hours to suit your needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for examination by the physician.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent information.
- Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
- Perform phlebotomy and administer EKGs as needed.
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care.
Clinical Duties:
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and assist with specimen collection.
- Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Perform routine procedures such as ear irrigations, throat cultures, and other similar tasks.
- Ensure exam rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
Certification:
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred, but not required.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a primary care or urgent care setting preferred.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG administration required.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems; eClinicalWorks is a plus!
Working Conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- May require occasional lifting and moving of medical equipment.
- Monday through Friday. No weekends needed.
