The New York State Senate Technology Services office is seeking a Business Analyst to support an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system modernization project. Senate Technology Services develops and maintains applications for legislative and administrative Senate offices as well as for the public constituency at large. This is a temporary position required to support the requirements gathering phase of this ERP modernization project.
The ideal candidate has significant experience working on ERP modernization projects with a focus on Financial and HR/Payroll functionality. The winning candidate will have extensive business analysis documentation experience as well as experience creating and/or tailoring documentation templates to meet project needs. strong communication skills, extensive experience leading meetings with business and technical stakeholders, and strong analytic skills.
Responsibilities
· Business analysis documentation and template creation such as Process Flow Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, Report Specification Documents, Report Requirement Documents, Pain Point Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, and User Interface Documents
· System and business process analysis
· Business rule extraction, documentation, and analysis
· End-user interviews

Mandatory Experience
· 7+ years documenting As-Is Enterprise Management Planning (ERP) systems using artifacts such as Process Flow Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, and Pain Point Documents
· 7+ years’ experience documenting To-Be ERP system requirements
· 7+ years’ ERP business analysis experience with a focus on Financial and HR/Payroll modules
· 7+ years’ experience conducting interviews with ERP end-users to support As-Is and To-Be documentation and analysis
· 7+ years’ experience documenting As-Is ERP reports using artifacts such as Report Specification Documents
· 7+ years’ experience creating business analysis artifact templates such as Process Flow Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, Report Specification Documents, Report Requirement Documents, Pain Point Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, and User Interface Document
· 5+ years’ experience creating business rules extraction documentation and analyzing extracted rules
Optional Experience
· 5+ years’ experience performing data analysis of ERP system data and metadata using SQL and tools such as Excel
