Who You Are:
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Resident Services, the chauffer (driver) is responsible for transporting residents in a safe, responsible manner to scheduled appointments and other activities. Assists residents on and off transportation vehicles, including helping with residents’ assistive devices. Monitor and assist residents when away from facility. Associate must be able to work in a 24-hour operation.
Essential Functions
Drive community vehicles for purpose of transporting residents to appointments and other activities/outings; assist residents on and off of vehicles; help residents with assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.; keep driver’s license (updated and remain eligible for licensing in accordance with state/federal regulations, if applicable.
Responsible for the maintenance of community vehicles; report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and/or incidents; maintain necessary travel logs and transportation charges; conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily maintenance log; report any unsanitary conditions or needed repairs of vehicles to supervisor.
Assists with activities as time permits and as needed; attends meetings and training as needed.
Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.

Ability to read and comprehend memos, reports and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagrammatic or schedule form.

High School education or GED preferred, but not required.

Must have a valid driver’s or commercial driver’s license (CDL). CDL preferred, not required
