Job description
This full-time position is ideal for a self-motivated lease auditing professional with excellent communication skills, rigorous attention to detail, a commitment to teamwork, and high personal standards for customer service. The position will require expertise in lease auditing as well as the ability to bring a systems approach to the lease auditing function, with an understanding of how auditing fits into the larger lease administration lifecycle. Specific responsibilities include:
Review annual reconciliation of operating expenses
Conduct expense analysis (vet expenses against lease language, compare to market rates and establish trend analysis
Perform desktop or onsite review of landlords' books and records
Prepare written reports covering audit recommendations and findings.
Desired skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required
Master’s or other graduate degree/professional credential preferred (MBA, JD, CPA, etc.)
3+ years of experience in lease auditing or related lease administration work
Financial/accounting background with proven property management accounting knowledge
Proficiency in cost analysis, gross up calculations, review of ledgers, contracts and other financial books and records
Forensic accounting experience
Detail-oriented with personal commitment to quality work and customer service
Advanced proficiency with Excel and other office productivity software
