Sewing Machine Repair Technician (Mechanical-Electrical Technician)
Overview
Atlanta & Augusta Sewing Center is currently hiring a Sewing Machine Repair Technician to join our team in Marietta, GA. The Technician performs routine maintenance and repairs on sewing machines. We service all brands of sewing machines (vintage and computerized), embroidery machines including single-needle to sixteen needles, and long arm quilting machines. This position requires a hands-on person who is skilled in troubleshooting and fixing problems. Technicians will research parts and work with our ordering department to order replacement parts, as needed, while maintaining an inventory of the popular parts. The position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, the ability to work with limited supervision, and the ability to follow directions.
We will provide the on boarding and training
Many of our current technicians have background in HVAC repair, small machine mechanics, appliance repair, and more. We will provide in-person, online, and written training. All technicians will have access to ongoing online training.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair machine issues.
- Troubleshoot mechanical parts, assemblies, and assemblies for proper function.
- Perform basic electrical repairs.
- Great attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Clean and organize work areas.
- Work safely by following procedures, rules of safety, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a strong interest in mechanical parts and assembly.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry items 50-100 pounds in weight.
- Must be able to manually grip and manipulate items in a repetitive motion (handtools).
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately and promptly.
- Have basic computer skills.
You do not have to have prior sewing machine repair knowledge, though it is preferred.
This is a full time Tuesday-Saturday position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
