Greenbriar Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Infection Control Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infection prevention and control, with a passion for maintaining the highest standards of health and safety in a long-term care setting. As an Infection Control Nurse, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies and procedures to protect our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
- Conduct regular surveillance of infection rates and trends within the facility.
- Investigate and manage outbreaks of infectious diseases, implementing appropriate control measures.
- Educate staff, residents, and families on infection prevention and control practices.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on infection control issues and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of infection control activities and findings.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in infection control and long-term care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection prevention and control.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Mississippi.
- Certification in Infection Control preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing infection control in long-term care facilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and data analysis tools.
