This Technician position at Big Sky Commercial Services is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically and technically minded and interested in pursuing a career in the heating and cooling and restaurant equipment repair industry. If you are new to the industry but are mechanically and technically inclined, you will receive full training and support in the first phase of your employment and will have the opportunity to work independently and receive your EPA certification once you have gained the necessary skills and knowledge. If you are experienced in the HVAC/R Heating and Cooling and/or Restaurant Equipment & Facility Repair & Maintenance industry with an EPA certification, then you could be assured we will put your well earned experience to work right away.
The job offers a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional weekend work only in emergency situations, and comes with a range of benefits including health and dental insurance and a 401(k) plan. The position is open to high school graduates or tech school graduates with any trade, as long as you have good mechanical skills, good communication skills, and a good driving record. - Big Sky Commercial Services is a specialty commercial heating and cooling repair and maintenance business, and a restaurant and food service equipment repair and maintenance company. Our service area(s) include Western and parts for Central Montana.
- We have a focus on expert service and small business customer support. Our technicians are EPA-certified with well-rounded experience enabling them to handle all a restaurant’s equipment needs.
- We currently have five full-time technicians and are adding looking to add a fourth technician.
About the job and outlook for this position

- This is a new position that we will provide full training for to the extent required.
- In the first phase of training this tech will ride with one of our other technicians and help with repair and maintenance service work. This phase will focus on training and assisting lead technicians in their service work. We are looking for applicants to train as well as applicants who have the necessary industry experience that can move into a stand-alone technician position as soon as possible.
- Once the tech has been trained in phase one of training and is ready to work independently then they will be issued a company vehicle.
- Will train to eventually get EPA Certification unless technician already has EPA Certification.
- This is a Monday to Friday work schedule with occasional weekend work only in an emergency.
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Preferred but not required - Tech school graduates - any trade welcome
- Mechanically minded and interest in “fixing” things, troubleshooting and problem solving
- Desire to get into the HVAC (heating and cooling) industry and restaurant equipment repair business
- Good mechanical skills and aptitude
- Good communications skills
- Good driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.72 - $29.78 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
