OUR CONSTRUCTION TEAM
The Director of Field Operations has overall responsibility for the development and management of the Field Staff as well as coordinating with other operational team members for the success of the projects. Teamwork is essential at JEM; every person plays a vital role in our success.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years commercial construction experience as a Director of Operations, General Superintendent, Project Superintendent, Senior Construction Manager or similar title.

Leadership & Communication
Director of Field Operations is responsible to run field staff meetings and present field training opportunities.
Strong analytical, organization, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, plus relationship-building skills.
Ability to interact across various organizational levels.
Capability to coach, discipline and terminate as necessary.
Strong multi-tasking, organizational, motivational and negotiation skills.
Proactive and driven to achieve results.
Safety
Possesses a strong understanding of safety policies and procedures.
Directs the overall safety culture within area(s) of responsibility.
Enforces safety procedures to ensure that all field work is undertaken safely and in compliance with safety plans for both JEM Group and the customer safety policies.
Ability to identify unsafe conditions and eliminate risk.
Field Management
Understand and coordinate our field manpower needs.
Schedule internal and external labor to fit project needs.
Have understanding of field staff capabilities including individual employee strengths and weaknesses.
Create development plans for field staff, train and mentor to achieve successful growth results.
Conduct evaluations for the field staff.
Monitor Superintendent, Carpenter and Laborer compliance with Field SOP and all quality reporting requirements.
Pre-Construction
Review plans and specifications, compare to estimate hours/costs and discuss challenges or safety concerns with Project Manager and Pre-Construction Team.
Attend job-start up meeting with JEM staff.
Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with development of project schedule/look-ahead.
Assist Superintendent with coordination of initial project logistics and the development of Site Safety Plan.
Project Closeout
Perform punch-list walk-throughs during project site visits/inspections and verity Foreman/Superintendent is maintaining a rolling completion list.
Projects are closed out, with punch-lists complete within the stablish timeframe.
