OVERVIEW:
The primary goal of a Medical Assistant ("MA") is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the provider they are working with and make the lives of our patients easier. The MA allows the doctors and clinics to focus on what is most important, the patient. The MA will provide the highest quality customer service to patients, adhere to practice protocols and processes, and effectively manage the volume of work without allowing quality to be compromised.
The MA’s duties include performing all clerical and information technology functions for a provider in a clinic setting. This includes primary responsibility for the operation of electronic health records. The position must be able to anticipate the provider's needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic. Good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important when working as a MA.
Looking for someone to service both Boynton Beach and Davie locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
Accurately and thoroughly help with medical visits, including but not limited to:
- Patient medical history, physical exam, and vitals.
- Prepare referrals and orders as instructed by the provider.
- Assist physician in back office duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs, and patient history.
- Adhere to prescription refill protocol.
- Adhere and maintain all records for all compliance and regulatory purposes
- Clean exam rooms, procedure room, stock supplies, inventory management, medication management, cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment, and patient care areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures.
Clerical Responsibilities:
- Dictation/faxing/phone calls and clerical tasks. MA’s also ensure that copies of pertinent reports or tests are available to the provider in a timely manner. May be asked to research contact information for referring physicians, coordinate referrals, make phone calls, and do other clerical tasks as assigned.
- MAs also spot mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation and check to correct the information in order to reduce errors.
- MA’s collect, organize and organize data for providers and other quality improvement efforts. Will assist in developing and maintaining systems to track patient follow-up and compliance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform associated clerical tasks including scheduling, filing, scanning, etc
- Assist with answering phones and other front desk duties when necessary
- Document work processes as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- 5 years experience in orthopedics, neurology, or pain management a plus
- Medical assistant school completion preferred
- Practice Fusion EHR experience a plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Medical Assistant diploma or certification Preferred (not required)

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
