At G&H|STINGRAY, we develop advanced and complex optical systems for global defense and military sectors, Homeland Security, Search and Rescue, surveillance and commercial applications. These systems span the optical spectrum of ultra violet, visible, and infrared wavelengths. G&H|STINGRAY is a fast-paced design environment for prototype and production volumes.
This position is based upon a forty (40) hour work week equating to full time employment at G&H|STINGRAY. It is considered an hourly/non-exempt position and eligible for overtime. We have attempted to list all of the responsibilities that might be expected of such an employee in the list that follows. However, additional duties may be required.
Position hours are M-F 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm.
Primary Duties:
- Assembly of optical systems to yield the required assembly tolerances.
- Record necessary information for traceability of assembly procedures.
- Recording touch time on work orders.
- Inspect optical and mechanical components for conformance to purchased prints.
- Assist in the optimization of optical components and mechanics to achieve desire results.
- Assistance with improving the assembly process and identifying design improvements for next generation products.
- Assist with troubleshooting, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Assist with laser marking, cutting, and welding as needed.
All employees at G&H |STINGRAY are expected to assist in the day-to-day duties typical of a small company including preparation of outgoing shipments, delivery of packages for shipment, cleaning, disposing of trash & recyclables etc.
The responsibilities of this position will involve having access to items and technical data that may be controlled under U.S. export laws and regulations ("U.S. Export Control Laws"), including but not limited to the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR") and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR"). In order to comply with the U.S. Export Control Laws, and in conjunction with the review of candidates for those positions within G&H that may present access to export-controlled technical data, G&H must assess whether candidates are "U.S. persons" as defined under the EAR (15 C.F.R. Part 772) and the ITAR (22 C.F.R. § 120.15). Certain questions asked during the application process are intended to assess this and will be used for evaluation purposes only.
Job Requirements:
- 3-5 years working as an assembler in a manufacturing business required.
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment and communicate effectively through listening, understanding and supplying timely feedback as well as continuously demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude
- Self starter with willingness and discipline to continually learn.
- Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with various measuring instruments is a plus.
- 3-5 years working with optical assemblies is a plus.
- Laser Machine experience is a plus.
- The ability to lift 40 pounds.
