Job Summary
We are seeking a coordinator of the BCC Geospatial Center of the CUNY CREST Institute / Payroll title: College Assistant to join our team. The College Assistant will provide administrative support to the Geospatial Center and assist with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Center. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to multitask effectively.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate projects and assist with project management tasks
- Manage office operations and maintain an organized work environment
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff
- Perform receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner
- Utilize Google Suite applications for data entry, document creation, and email communication, update website contents regularly.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and scanning documents
- Support the director in organizing meetings, writing basic reports, downloading large datasets, organizing folders, greet visitors and directing them to the appropriate personnel
Required Skills
- Strong project coordination skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in office management procedures and practices
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, GIS skills, Adobe Photoshop, and Google Suite applications
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Experience as a medical receptionist is a plus
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and effective communication techniques
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with administrative tasks and geospatial technology in a college/university environment is preferred
