This job requires military service in the Air Force Reserve.
Position Summary
Our pilots’ success rests on highly advanced avionics systems. Responsible for repairing and maintaining these systems, Fighter Aircraft Integrated Avionics specialists get these pilots the information they need to effectively operate aircraft. They keep an eye on everything from flight controls to communications systems to ensure our aircrew stay safe and can properly carry out their missions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Trace data flow and wiring diagrams.
- Inspect and maintain aircraft wiring systems.
- Check externally mounted avionics systems.
- Recommend methods to improve equipment performance.

Qualifications
Select full-time opportunities may be available for fully-qualified candidates seeking to affiliate from the active duty Air Force. Full-time opportunities for this role vary by location. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- A high school senior (age 17 or older)*, high school diploma, a GED or 15 college semester hours
- 70 Electronics (E) on ASVAB
- Completion of Advanced Aircraft Wiring Maintenance course
- Normal color vision
- Completion of a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
*High school students may start their application as early as the end of their junior year.
