Senior Development Operations Associate
Reports to: Director of Development.
Job Description
Women for Afghan Women (WAW) is looking to hire a Senior Development Operations Associate to help the organization during this time of growth and strategic development of our programs in Afghanistan and in the United States.
Time commitment: Full-time, non-exempt.
Location: Remote with occasional travel to NY and VA community centers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage WAW’s development operations system in order to support the fundraising operation, enhance donor engagement and the maintenance of donor records
- Manage WAW’s development operations systems including but not limited to the CRM, grant management system and crowd funding platform.
- Manage various development operations vendors as necessary such as direct mail vendor, caging company, fundraising and CRM system vendors, etc…
- Support the fundraising team in drafting proposals and reports, research and tracking of fundraising opportunities
- Draft grant proposals and progress reports in coordination with Program and Finance teams and ensure their timely submission.
- Track and manage current and prospective grant and reporting deadlines.
- Use grant portals such as Passport, Grant Solutions and other websites used by various State, Federal, City, and private donors to identify opportunities.
- Prepare relevant reports and materials for both internal and external use.
- Prepare relevant materials for donor appeals and communications throughout the year.
- Draft other materials as assigned, such as the quarterly board reports and annual report.
Qualifications:
As a prerequisite, the Senior Development Operations Associate must believe in the core values and be driven by the mission of the organization. S/he must also have:
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work professionally in a multicultural office environment;
- Fundraising: 2-3 years (Preferred)
- Microsoft Office: 3-4 year (Preferred)
- Excellent fluency in English, both written and spoken;
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience;
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills;
- Ability to articulate WAW’s mission and to represent the organization to donors and potential supporters;
- Proficiency in various office applications and fundraising and/or database software, with basic graphic design a plus; and
- Experience with fundraising, grant/report writing, communications, or similar experience is a plus, but not required.
