Position Overview: The Developmental Football League (DFL) is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Sports Scouts to join our recruitment team. As a Sports Scout, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and recruiting talented football players to attend the DFL Combine & Tryouts. This position involves engaging with high school and college football coaches and athletic directors to prospect potential players who align with the league's standards and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Player Identification:
- Scout high school and college football games, practices, and events to identify talented athletes.
- Assess players’ skills, physical attributes, and potential for development.
- Networking and Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain relationships with high school and college football coaches, athletic directors, and other relevant contacts.
- Conduct regular meetings and communications with coaches and athletic directors to discuss player prospects and gather recommendations.
- Recruitment:
- Promote the DFL Combine & Tryouts to identified prospects and their coaches.
- Provide detailed information about the DFL’s mission, development programs, and opportunities for player growth.
- Evaluation and Reporting:
- Compile comprehensive reports on prospective players, including their strengths, areas for improvement, and potential fit within the DFL.
- Maintain an organized database of scouted players and their progress.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating DFL Combine & Tryouts events.
- Ensure that recruited players are well-prepared and informed about the tryout process.
- Travel:
- Travel to various high schools, colleges, and events as necessary to scout and recruit players.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Prior experience in football scouting, coaching, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of football rules, strategies, and player development.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate athletic talent and potential accurately.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Attributes:
- Passion for football and player development.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field; not mandatory.
- Existing network within high school and college football communities.

Pay: $3,424.52 - $4,124.16 per month
