Job Position: Sales Associate (Full-Time & Part-Time)
Compensation: $17.00 - $21.00 hourly Depending on experience
This is a Full Time or Part Time Position.
Position Description: As the Sales Associate, one must be able to provide sales help and technical solutions within the various departments. The Sales Associate is expected not only to generate sales, but to provide a welcoming and helpful environment for the customer to create a lasting impression, leading to more repeat customers. During downtime, the Sales Associate will help maintain the aisles of the various departments.
This position must successfully interact with the Department Leads and the sales associate staff, in addition to Walnut Creek Hardware Management as well as the WCH Owners. The Sales Associate may also need to interact with outside vendors as needed for purchasing replenishment stock, as well as bringing in new products.
Reports to: The Sales Associate will report to the Department Lead in which they are positioned in.
Responsibilities:

Ensure that each customer you interactive with receives outstanding service which follows the ACE S.A.L.E.S. process and meets/exceeds mystery shop standards.
- Provide expert sales help and offer solutions to customer inquiries
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
- Maintain an isle or department, including down stocking, front and facing, cleaning, and monitoring outs
- Assist with cashiering as needed
Skill set and educational requirements for position:

Education/Training: Minimum of high school degree, some college preferred
- Experience and knowledge in the following categories are highly desired: Electrical, Plumbing, Paint, Hardware, Gardening and more.
- Experience in a retail environment in sales, cashier, or back office
- A commitment to service, excellence, and customer satisfaction
- Possess a good working knowledge of the store floor layout and the products for sale
- Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn
- Knowledge of retail computer systems, electronic cash registers
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
- Able to represent the Walnut Creek Hardware in a courteous and professional manner.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and performing all functions as set forth
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. regularly, up to 50lbs occasionally
