Position Summary:
The Lead Government Grant Writer is responsible for originating content for grant applications, preparation and submission of grant materials consistent with application requirements and researching and identifying public grant opportunities relevant to Francis Energy. To achieve company objectives in alignment with government agencies’ goals, this position combines strong research and federal grant writing skills with project management expertise, as the submission of successful funding applications demands collaboration among multiple departments: site acquisition, utilities, construction, finance, and government relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Review Request for Proposals (RFP) and Notices of Funding Opportunities from local, state, and federal agencies
· Deliver timely and high-quality proposals, applications and related documents responsive to RFPs and other opportunity solicitations consistent with all funding requirements and conditions
· Understand in detail applicable state and federal standards and requirements
· Establish and maintain quality standards for project deliverables
· Meet with external stakeholders to gather project information
· Monitor and ensure that project results meet the defined quality criteria
· Close out the project by ensuring all project objectives have been met
· Coordinates the progress of submitted proposals
· Support other projects and activities as assigned
· Engage consistent with Francis Energy’s mission and values
Education and Experience:
· Government grant experience required; Experience with NEVI and/or the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) grant program is preferred
· Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., journalism, communications, public relations) or comparable experience
· Relevant grant writing/management certification (e.g., GPC or CGMS) is preferred
· 4+ years of proven experience in grant writing with a track record of successful applications
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in project management software and tools
· Demonstrated history of teamwork and willingness to get the job done
