Job Title: Election Protection Hotline Technician
Location: Washington, DC/Remote in Selected States (OH, NJ, TX)
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (position ends 12/20/24)
About the Role:
The Hotline Technician position is part of our hotline infrastructure team, which oversees the day-to-day functions of the 866-OUR-VOTE Hotline, as well as providing support to state-based contact centers. Overall, this position will work with thousands of legal volunteers all over the country. The Election Protection Hotline Technician works under the supervision of the Election Protection Infrastructure Manager and the Election Protection Senior Technical Hotline Specialist.
This job is directly related to elections and is fast paced, requires multitasking, and includes early morning, evening and weekend work. This position requires comfort with learning and using new technology and platforms, and general knowledge of election policies.

What You’ll be Doing:
Essential responsibilities of the Election Protection Hotline Specialist include but are not limited to the following:

Support the day-to-day functions of the Election Protection contact center that receives interactions from voters via the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline.

Provide general support to hotline volunteers.

Work with senior hotline staff to respond to substantive volunteer questions.

Respond to technical issues and general volunteer inquiries during hotline shifts.

Respond to form and email inquiries.
-
Ensure volunteer access to technical resources.
-
Assist volunteers with technical questions and help resolve tech issues.

Prepare daily volunteer emails and other volunteer communications.

Track volunteer progress toward leadership roles.
-
Support the maintenance of Hotline resources.
-
Edit volunteer resources, including technical support guides, state-specific voting information, and training resources in coordination with permanent hotline staff.

Assist in posting materials on intranet site.

Provide technical and best practices assistance support.

Assist with post-election data capture and quality.
Minimum Requirements and Competencies:-
Demonstrated ability to learn a range of technology platforms.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three or more years or more of work experience as a community or political organizer can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.

Experience as a volunteer or managing volunteers.

Detail-oriented nature.

Ability to multitask.

Ability to work a flexible schedule.
-
Administrative experience in a remote setting is a plus.
