We are seeking Assistant Teachers who are passionate about working with young children. to design, build, and maintain operations systems, processes, and tools for the whole school across 3 buildings. Assistant Teachers provide a warm, caring environments where children learn and grow while supporting Lead teachers.
- Assist in planning and implementing activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of students
- Establish routines and procedures for daily learning/play experiences
- Supervision of students in the classroom while creating a safe environment
- Assist and reinforce routines with head teacher and provide positive guidance for behavioral outcomes
- Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
- Communicate to parents on an as needed basis about child’s behavior, positive and negative, with approval of Lead Teacher via tadpoles
- Collaborate regularly with Lead Teacher to develop weekly plans and activities
- Effectively open and close classrooms, in addition to cleaning and organizing
- Follow procedures of positive reinforcement and redirection of student behavior
- Follow allergy protocols when administering all foods
- Must remain and support assigned classroom unless otherwise instructed by Assistant Director or Center Director
- Must attend all Professional Development Day and accumulate twelve hours of training per year
- Must remain flexible, as TBS reserves the right to move employees to ensure the needs of students are being met
- Perform assigned tasks as designated by head teacher/director
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Associates degree in education/related field or Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in child care setting
- Ability to relate positively to young children, parents and staff
- Willing to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the program.
- Able to lift 40 lbs and walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety
- Must be technological literate. Assistant Teachers will be required to use, manage, understand, and assess technology
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
