X-Ray Technologist Texas
Seeking a Multi Tech Medical Assistant who provides expertise and to be a champion of patient care. Perform radiological duties and procedures as permitted by governing agencies. In addition to x-ray tech duties, this position will also serve as a medical assistant and at times a receptionist.
Work days are Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday.
Availability for a 4-day work week.
Hours varies:
Clinic Days 9:30am-6:30pm; Nonclinic days availability to self-schedule as workload permits.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and updates patient charts accordingly.
- Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.
- Collect patient history and documenting appropriately.
- You may apply dressings and bandages.
- Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress
- Assist with patient flow process.
- Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Sciences and Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT) license in Texas or Non-Registered Technician (NCT) license in Texas.
Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office.
Accuracy and detail orientation.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills in both verbal and written form.
Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Knowledge of hospital medicine, inpatient care, internal medicine, and medical-surgical procedures.
Preferred:
Bilingual in Spanish / English
Previous medical clerical experience
Physical Demandsrequired for this position include: the ability to speak clearly, close vision, the ability to stand for extended periods, the ability to reach and bend, periodic lifting and moving of items, and walking.
Work Environmentwhile performing the duties of this job are working in an indoor healthcare environment, working with a moderate noise level, working with a potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and diseases with a requirement to wear appropriate PPE, (ie. gloves, masks, etc.)
