Key Responsibilities:
- Clearing tables of used dishes, utensils, and waste. Efficiently and promptly reset tables by wiping them down and arranging seating.
- Collaborating with the waitstaff by promptly refilling water glasses, offering coffee if available, replacing used utensils, clearing plates between courses, and providing condiments and assistance as required.
- Responsively and courteously attending to guest requests, ensuring their needs are met to enhance their overall dining experience.
- Maintaining a well-stocked supply of utensils, napkins, condiments, and other essential items.
- Establishing effective communication and coordination between the front-of-house and back-of-house operations by working closely with the kitchen and waitstaff.
- Monitor and upkeep the cleanliness of restrooms, conducting regular checks, cleaning as necessary, and consistently restocking supplies.
- Assisting with general cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Adhering to all safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a secure working environment for both staff and guests.
- Offering support to other team members during busy periods or special events to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a busperson or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Proficiency in organization and effective task prioritization.
- Capability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and guests.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by business needs.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy items throughout the shift.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices in a restaurant setting.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
