Primary Accountability:
The Financial Controller manages financial functions including accounting, budget preparation, accounts payable and receivable, grant reporting, business planning, and cash management activities. The Financial Controller oversees administrative operations and serves as the point of contact for vendors.
Major Duties:
Finance and accounting operations; quality control for financial transactions; financial reporting and analysis; cash flow management; budgeting and forecasting; financial strategy; banking; audit liaison; internal controls; compliance; efficiency and cost savings; leadership and management of administrative staff; regulatory reporting; grant management and reporting; administrative policy and procedure.
- Maintain all financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Prepare, complete, and analyze all accounting functions including daily reports, bank deposits, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other related activities.
- Implement and maintain appropriate internal financial control procedures.
- Prepare and monitor the annual budget in cooperation with the CEO.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
- File all necessary tax reports regarding payroll.
- Assist the CPA firm in the performance of the annual audit and 990.
- Monitor cash flow and make appropriate bank account transfers.
- Work closely with the board and leadership team regarding accounting issues and procedures.
- Participate as a member of the leadership team to identify strategy, allocate resources, and support agency service delivery.
- Staff the board of directors’ finance committee, including analysis of financial position with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budget.
- Work closely with the risk management and corporate compliance officers for the agency.
- Manage a team of administrative staff.
- Oversee grant management and grant reporting as well as the PRTF cost report.
- Act as point of contact for agency vendors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of tax-related reporting requirements and computerized accounting software.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
- Strong computer and word processing skills, in particular QuickBooks, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with staff, clients, families, prospects, and the public.
- Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail and quality of work produced.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and organization of workload.
- Willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.
- Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read computer screens and mail, and talk on the phone.
Work Environment:

$65,000 - $85,000
