Position Summary
The Afterschool Program Manager implements the daily curriculum and activities.
Position Title: Afterschool Program Manager
Reports to: Afterschool Program Director and Staff Parish Relations Committee
Type of Position: Part-time (20 hours per week; 39 weeks per year + one week before school starts for preparation and one week post school year for closure)
Major Responsibilities:
Implements the curriculum and appropriate activities.
Takes attendance as youth arrive and ensures youth leave with appropriate parent/guardian.
Disciplines youth as needed.
Ensures the facility is safe and complies with laws and regulations.
Serves as the liaison between parents, school, and community.
Leads and oversees the activity workers.
Prepares the facility prior for each session and after the daily program to make sure the facility is closed appropriately.
Communicates effectively with activity workers, youth, and parents.
Reports immediately and documents any concerns regarding youth, parents, staff, or the facility to the program director.
Identifies needs and submits reports to the director as required.
Completes training as required.
Attends program or staff meetings as directed.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma
Prefer knowledge of math and English to help tutor youth
Prior experience with youth, either in ministry or after school program
Knowledge of growth and development
Ability to assess behaviors and redirect
Ability to multi-task and problem solve
Strong attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills appropriate for interfacing with children and adults
Strong Christian ethic and church background
Maintains confidentiality
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, climb, lift objects up to 40 pounds, and be physically active with youth.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
