The Human Resources Associate will perform administrative tasks to support the COO in Human Resources functions, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records and documentation. The HR Associate will support recruitment and onboarding procedures, engagement initiatives and other employee-related matters. The Associate will answer questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring, processes, etc. and refer more complex questions to senior HR staff or management.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition: Assists with maintaining the Applicant Tracking System and supporting centralized recruitment of talent for the agency. Conducts phone screens, forwards candidates to hiring managers, schedules interviews, and maintains contact with applicants. Ensures proper candidate disposition.

Onboarding and Offboarding Support: Ensures effective new hire orientation for each department, meets in person with new hires and employees exiting the organization to conduct effective onboarding and offboarding procedures.
- Documentation: Maintains employee recordkeeping, organizes HR records and maintains employee confidentiality. Assists with maintaining documentation related to job descriptions, policies and procedures of the agency.
- Payroll: Processes HR updates relevant to payroll processing, may assist with payroll functions as requested by the fiscal department including answering employee questions and fixing processing errors.
- Benefits: Answers benefits inquiries and assists with completion of benefits enrollment. Liaises between employees and external benefit providers and vendors.
- Performance: Assists with implementation of performance management materials and tracks completion of performance appraisals.

Employee Relations: Serves as a primary point of contact to answer general HR- related questions and responds to concerns timely and accurately.
- Compliance: Consults with appropriate resources to ensure compliance and following of legal requirements.

Communications: Completes assigned tasks in preparation of employee-facing communications, such as newsletters, emails, announcements, and invitations. Shares responsibility for communications via agency social media channels.

Assists with employee committees and engages with inter-departmental teams to support HR processes within their programs.
- Helps with volunteer recruitment postings for applicable agency programs.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, ability to learn and adapt to HRIS systems management functions.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in a related field. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
1-year related experience in recruiting, hiring and/or communicating company resources.
Current human resources certification or intent to become certified within one year of employment preferred.
Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive among various WCCS, Inc. locations for meetings.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
