HVAC/Plumbing Designer/Engineer EIT

Location:
· Remote position. Must have own personal computer. AutoCAD license can be provided. Possible site visits conducted on occasion in the Central and Southern California areas.

Job tasks will include the following:
Plumbing design:
· Design development and Construction documents for residential and non-residential projects. Both new construction and tenant improvements.
· Design of cold/hot water, waste/vent, gas, and associated engineering calculations.
· Perform domestic water load analysis and calculations.
· Water, waste, and gas line isometrics.
· Provide plumbing equipment selection and fixture schedule.
· Perform grease waste interceptor sizing load calculations for commercial kitchen projects.
· Add relevant Amcor templated notes and details.
· Perform occasional site visits to verify existing conditions.
· Plumbing Title 24 energy documentation.
· Perform construction administration, submittal review, and respond to Request for Information (RFI).
· Reply to plan check comments from the different Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
HVAC design:
· Design development and Construction documents for residential and non-residential projects. Both new construction and tenant improvements.
· Design of Mechanical HVAC systems and associated engineering calculations.
· Perform building energy load calculations.
· Provide mechanical equipment selection and equipment schedules.
· Perform sizing of duct runs, registers, transfer airs, and exhaust ducts.
· Provide hood drawings and grease duct layouts for commercial kitchen projects.
· Radiant floor heating design and calculations.
· Add relevant Amcor templated notes and details.
· Perform occasional site visits to verify existing conditions.
· Mechanical and Envelope Title 24 energy documentation.
· Perform construction administration, submittal review, and respond to Request for Information (RFI).
· Reply to plan check comments from the different Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
The ideal candidate will need the following qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equal.
· Engineer In Training (EIT) Certification.
· Experience with AutoCAD software. Revit is a plus.
· Familiarity with industry-specific software such as
o EnergyPro
o VRF design software
o LoopCAD
o Bluebeam
o Microsoft suite.
· Ability to follow instruction and learn from examples.
· Previous experience in an MEP engineering firm (~3 years or more preferred).
· PE license a plus.
· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
· Understanding the technical aspects of HVAC and Plumbing engineering and design.
· Knowledge of California building codes, standards, and regulations for both residential and non-residential buildings.
· Energetic, self-motivated, organized, critical thinker.
