General Overview
Product Owners for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products and internally built digital solutions work closely with Key Stakeholders, and Product Managers to understand the organizational goals and priorities driving roadmaps. The Product Owner will define user stories, prioritize the product backlog, and is able to provide all necessary details for the development team to achieve their sprint goals effectively and efficiently.
In this role you’ll tackle the challenge of juggling multiple products and mastering the technical complexities of Rotary’s products. Your work will have a profound impact, driving participant-focused solutions, leading market innovations, and enhancing product quality. The Product Owner reports to a Product Manager aligned to a portfolio of products.
You Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information System or equivalent experience required.
- Knowledge of Agile Values, Principles, and mindset with at least 3-5 years’ experience acting in a product owner of software products and/or services role.
- Certified in Scaled Agile - SAFe® Product Owner (PO/PM) required.
- Strong technical acumen and system thinking.
- Proficiency using Confluence, and JIRA.
- A consumer-centric focus with experience managing user experience components.
- An ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions simply and logically.
- Demonstrated track record in effective requirement elicitation and analysis.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
- Self-motivation is crucial.

You Will Be Responsible For
- Owning the product backlog and priority of backlog items; ensure it is transparent, visible, and understood;
- Owning the product roadmap - for external SaaS or Rotary products;
- Creating and communicating backlog items (i.e., writing user stories);
- Monitoring, triaging, and investigating production issues
- Participating in Rotary’s lean agile center of excellence (LACE) to help the continued roll out of the scaled agile framework
- Closely collaborating with your Product Manager and/or Business Stakeholder to gain product understanding and prioritize backlog items efficiently;
- Prioritizing and sequencing stories to maximize the business value delivered while maintaining a sustainable pace for the team.
- Processing and analyzing product feedback from stakeholders;
- Accepting user stories;
- Collaborating with IT back-end teams and shared services to assist decision-making and sequencing of critical technology enablers;
- Analyzing functional and non-functional product requirements, dependencies, and constraints and decompose them into tasks for the development team;
- Ensuring ongoing collaboration with other product development teams to align work and proactively manage cross-team dependencies;
- Conduct demo for all required stakeholders;
- Run UAT.
- Coordinating upgrades or data integration changes requiring Rotary support with eSaaS vendor (if applicable).
