INS is a nonprofit association offering a unique full time hybrid work opportunity. We are seeking a skilled and versatile individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper/Member Services Associate. This position requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping daily tasks and accounting principles, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with both team members and clients.
Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of bookkeeping experience, along with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred. Familiarity with Sage accounting software and the Salesforce platform is advantageous.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Accounting
- Reconcile daily company transactions from several revenue generating platforms
- Keep accurate records of company finances
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Month-end close process
- Assisting external accounting firm with year-end audit and tax preparation
- Assist with maintaining financial reports
- Set up and maintain vendor accounts in accounting program with periodic communication
- Deferred revenue, accruals and prepaid schedules
- Manage staff and volunteer expense processing and reporting
- Setting up procedures and processes
- Process purchases and refunds for customers
- Assisting with other accounting projects as needed
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Member Services
- Interact with potential and current INS members, deliver high quality customer service by listening to requests and finding the appropriate solution.
- Investigate and resolve complaints and concerns. Respond to inquiries both on the telephone, via the website and by sending out written materials or e-mail correspondence.
- Learn and understand the Fonteva (Salesforce based) AMS platform for data upkeep.
- Data entry of membership applications, renewals, meeting registrations, product orders, exam registrations, transfers, cancellations and recertification applications into the Fonteva database.
- Assist with product shipping as necessary
- Assist in the mailing (both print and electronic) of informational material and programs
- Assist with membership services projects as needed
