WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
15 percent office environment, 85 percent floor environment. Includes heights, temperature extremes, noise, working around equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee required to climb stairs.
EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED:
The BSB Bag Room Supervisor is responsible for the management of all employees he oversees.
DEGREE OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED:
Small degree of supervision required. Specific direction related to improvement efforts and company-related goals and initiatives will be provided by management.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises, hires, trains, and responsible for the development of bag making employees.
- Monitors employee performance and provides feedback.
- Ensures that all employees are properly trained on and follow Winpak Films Inc. procedures and work instructions per the Quality System.
- Ensures that all employees are trained on and follow proper Winpak Films Inc. safety procedures and work instructions.
- Monitors and responsible for all aspects of bag quality.
- Monitors and reports daily results for productivity and waste. Assesses root cause of success/failure, and implements preventive and corrective action.
- Maintains and audits proper housekeeping procedures.
- Ensures that all employees perform proper quality checks so that the manufactured product conforms to set specifications.
- Approves of all new item specifications. Ensures all specs are used effectively on the floor.
- Develops all Standard Operating Conditions (SOC). Ensures SOCs are effectively used on the floor.
- Assists with the investigations and corrective actions of all customer complaints.
- Ensures that the operation runs so that productivity and waste goals are met, reporting routinely as required.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of the production schedule so that maximum efficiencies are maintained while meeting customer requests.
- Dilligently pursues BSB bag making knowledge and process development. Becomes WFI expert in BSB bag making.
- Leads BSB Bag Making TPM activities. Insures proper metrics maintained, activities completed, and spare parts available.
- Assists the Technical department with product development activities.
- Coordinates with Purchasing and Maintenance to maintain production materials and bag machines parts.
- Manages reworking of finished goods materials if they are to be applied to a customer order.
- Ensures that the proper Shop Floor Data Collection (SFDC) procedures are followed.
- Ensures inventory control procedures are followed and effective.
- Is on-call as needed to insure effective operations.
- Schedules personnel as needed to meet customer and business needs.
- Other duties as assigned by the BSB Production Department Manager.
