2024-2025 School Year (August to June)
Title: Lead Teacher
Reports to: Director and Headmaster
Goal: To help children grow physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually by introducing them to developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum. To teach children a foundational worldview that is based on the love of Jesus Christ.
Performance Responsibilities
Spiritual:

Instructional/ Professional:
Instructional:
1. Will plan, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies and the Christian philosophy of Little Flock Preschool.
2. Plans a program of that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interest and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his or her best work.
3. Use valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals as outlined by the designated curriculum and state standards that promote student learning within the framework of the school’s mission and philosophy.
4. Employs a variety of instructional aides, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child- spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
5. Prepares and submits weekly lesson plans based on the school curriculum and additional resources for the administrator’s review.
6. Will treat all children with dignity and respect. Will follow the basic school discipline policy by being proactive.
7. Will take the initiative to clearly communicate discipline concerns to the administrator and to the parents.
8. Will abide by a code of confidentiality in all areas relating to students.
9 . Will implement methods for effectively working with the teacher assistants, including clear communication and supervision. Will give input to the supervisor on assistant teacher evaluations.
10. Will evaluate on an ongoing basis the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic level of each child and provide progress reports as required.
Non-instructional and Professional:
1. Cooperates with administration in implementing all policies and procedures for the operation of the school.
2. Maintains regular accurate student attendance to meet the demand for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress.
3. Accepts a share of responsibility for activities as assigned.
4. Will attend all devotionals, staff meetings and training sessions on time.
5. Utilizes educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
Required to achieve at least 12 hours of training per year.
6. Knows and follows the procedures for dealing with emergency situations.
7. Informs the supervisor or sub coordinator in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any duty
assigned.
Personal:
1. Exhibits the character of Christ in word, action, and attitude; this includes demonstrating the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.
2. Meets everyday stress with prayer, emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism.
3. Exercises friendliness and consideration, treating students, parents, and staff without
partiality.
4. Submits respectfully and is loyal to constituted authority.
5. Maintains a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste.
6. Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication.
7. Develops and maintains rapport with student, parents, and staff to promote a positive
learning environment.
8. Recognizes the need for good public relations; represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to its constituency and general public
9. Demonstrates and appreciation and understanding of the uniqueness of the local
community.
Required Certification/Experience:
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
- 2 years lead teacher experience in a school or center setting, OR, 2 or more years as an assistant teacher in a school or center setting.
- Experience with ABEKA curriculum preferred.
