The person in the position will report to the Chief Communications Officer and will assist Millbrook School’s Communications Office in creating and sharing content that will advance the school’s mission. The person in this role will help showcase all that makes our school unique, elevate everyday moments, and showcase achievements of current students, faculty, and alumni by generating content, engagement, and growth through a strategic and creative mindset. This is a full time, twelve month, exempt position. Normal work hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and evening and/or weekend hours for event coverage several times throughout the year as necessary. Primary content creator responsibilities:
- Plan social media strategy and content schedule considering target audiences, school goals, and school calendar.
- Craft social media posts, designing and writing content appropriate for each channel and intended audience.
- Regularly capture images and video in moments around campus to use across social media and on the school’s website to tell the stories we want to share.
- Analyze interactions across social media and the website to make recommendations on best practices and future strategies.
- Assist in developing creative website content and structure that supports the school’s goals and users’ needs, keeping the school’s website fresh, accurate, and relevant.
- Manage graphics and messaging on RISE VISION screens in locations across campus.
- Assist in html email content development throughout the year.
- Take photos for specific print publications and website stories.
- Edit photos selected for use in print or on web – file conversion and editing for color, brightness, contrast, clarity, etc.
- Organize and maintain school photo archive and database, keyword and rate photos.
- Manage public online photo galleries.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in multimedia, photography, or similar creative major
- Highly knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge, and Lightroom).
- High comfort level crafting images and posts across social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
- High comfort level with digital photography and videography.
- Detail-oriented, with high standards for brand, messaging, and creativity.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Graphic design skills preferred.
- Regular consistent attendance and punctuality is required as a condition of employment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to successfully interact with diverse staff, faculty, students, and other constituents. Must be willing and able to collaborate and be solution oriented.
- Limited travel possible, mostly to New York City.
