E.P. Properties has an immediate opening for a full-time, non-exempt Maintenance Technician.
Position Overview: E.P. Properties is a Class A business park in East Vancouver and we're looking to hire a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to add to our team of building maintenance staff to help maintain our buildings and grounds and keep them in exceptional order. Our 6-building complex of over 300,000 sq ft is seeking an individual to represent our company in a professional and positive manner while giving our tenants a clean, comfortable, and inviting work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To round out our team we are looking for an experienced technician with a strong background in HVAC systems. We are in need of a technician with a background in key systems, door hardware maintenance and installation, access control systems, ADA door systems, and general door maintenance. The right technician will have a good understanding of lighting circuits, and electrical systems, being able to troubleshoot and recommend repairs based on observations. Knowledge in plumbing and hands-free restroom fixtures is a plus. The technician must have the ability to work through situations in an educated and timely fashion to facilitate repairs or recommend calling in a specialist.
Along with the specific skills listed above, experience in all aspects of facilities maintenance is appreciated. Some areas: appliance repair and maintenance; wall repair, caulking, and painting skills; understanding and experience with commercial plumbing concerns; wallpaper repair; carpet and floor maintenance experience; pressure washing skills; roof patching; assisting with furniture moving; organizing and maintaining shop spaces; assistance with pond repair and maintenance; snow removal; and being on call to deal with a variety of after-hours concerns. Being able to work with our team on any situation that arises is a priority.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
The Facilities Maintenance Technician must be self-motivated, with excellent attention to detail, and possess good organizational skills. Tasks shall be performed in an orderly and timely fashion. Our new technician should have a friendly and positive attitude, with an emphasis on customer service.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician should be able to communicate effectively, with the ability to speak, read, and write in English. Our maintenance staff needs to have basic computer skills, and be able to use a smartphone for service orders, and communication with staff. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will need to be able to drive a golf cart in a safe and courteous manner. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will report to work in appropriate uniform and maintain a neat, clean appearance.
