The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for supporting the quality assurance and food safety programs. Responsibilities include conducting audits within the facility and enforcing all Food Safety and Quality programs, SQF, HACCP, GMP’s, SOP’s, and SSOP’s. Responsible for communication of food quality standards to plant personnel through training, corrective actions, quality audits, production and facility monitoring.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the plant as well as the raw materials, packaging materials, and operations required in the manufacturing process including quality specifications and standards.
- Assist SQF practitioner in verifying, validating, and maintaining HACCP,SQF, PCQI certifications.
- Responsible for document control within the SQF system.
- Supervising overall plant and product quality by conducting and/or evaluating various product tests, and operational procedures to meet specifications.
- Perform internal audits and fully document root cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations.
- Investigate customer complaints regarding quality.
- Assist with pest control program
- Write programs and tailor existing programs to new facility and new product lines so we maintain a consistent, workable SQF program.
- Maintain all documentation related to food safety and quality.
- Oversee critical daily audit system to ensure all SQF required documentation is accurately completed on a daily basis.
- Responsible for overall management of all SQF and food safety.
- Provides direct management support in the development and maintenance of the SQF program
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associates degree in science preferred or 2 years related food manufacturing experience
- HACCP certification a plus
- Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP principles, SQF, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, Pest Control, and Allergen Control programs)
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Must have flexibility to work overtime if needed.
