The Staff Accountant will be a key player in managing the day-to-day Accounts Payable workstream, including invoice processing, disbursements cycle, journal entries and P-card program. This position will report to the Assistant Controller and interface with the Controller and management team.
*This position required 3 days per week in office*
Essential Functions (This list may not include all duties as assigned):
· Monitor the Accounts payable email inbox and accurately enter, code and process vendor invoices.
· Perform the 3-way match of payables.
· Performs aging analyses.
· Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of bills and purchase orders.
· Respond to all vendor inquiries.
· File state excise tax each month.
· Assist with state excise tax audit.
· Complete weekly vendor payment disbursement cycle
· Complete off-cycle payment disbursements for urgent payments, prepayments, voids/reissues.
· Reconcile the bank to general ledger for disbursements.
· Maintain internal and external relationships with vendors and team members, including solving issues and discrepancies.
· Record Journal entries.
· Leads P-card program as administrator.
· Assists with month end close.
· Identifies process improvement opportunities as it relates to the individual’s area of responsibility.
· Assists with annual financial audit.
· Performs other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or equivalent job experience.
· 7-10 years of Accounts Payable and Disbursements experience required.
· Experience with Medium to Large sized entities is a plus.
· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including proficiency in Excel.
· Strong attention to detail skills.
· Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to problem solve independently.
· Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
· Knowledge of NetSuite or similar software is a plus.
