Direct Support Position: Blue Bell, PA

We are seeking qualified candidates for an in-home, direct support position with a man in Blue Bell. He is non-verbal, but works very hard to communicate his needs/wants. He is social, thrives on routine, and loves being out and about. There are two day shifts available for this individual.
We’re looking for someone who thinks outside of the box, comes up with creative solutions to interesting challenges, will help to keep the individual engaged, and enjoys helping individuals learn new skills.
This gentleman is interested in becoming more comfortable being a part of his community. He enjoys exploring his community by going to the park, visiting stores and restaurants, and participating in other community activities with assistance. Some activities may include swimming, trying the local gym, and walking in one of the many parks. This individual lives in his home that has been modified to give him opportunities for entertainment, physical exercise, swimming, sensory stimulation and more.
In addition to supporting him with daily living needs such as providing prompts to help him with laundry, personal hygiene and assisting with personal chores. Other tasks may include companionship, ensuring safety, and helping him to maintain his routine. We are looking for professionals who are patient, capable, and enjoy being directly involved while providing support. This is not a position where you should be sitting on your phone, but actively involved with the individual. We are looking for someone who is responsible, reliable, and has their own transportation and driver’s license.
You must be comfortable working with someone who is non-verbal. Experience working with autistic individuals is a plus.
You must
● Be at least 18 years of age
● Have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle,
● College Students who are Studying education, Special Education, Psychology, Counseling, or similar fields of study. College Degree Preferred.

Job Type: Part-time
Days needed: Shift - 1 - Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Shift - 2 - Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 to $20.00 depending on experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 per week
