We are seeking an experienced and engaging individual to be a part of the Knife River leadership team. This position will develop and lead cross-functional departments that include financial planning, investor relations and strategic initiatives. With responsibility for presenting and communicating to other team members, the investing public and board of directors, this position will be an integral part of the executive management team and will help develop the future of Knife River!
LOCATION:
Bismarck, ND or Bend, OR or Remote (in a geographic location with easy access to a Knife River location)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field, MBA, or advanced degree preferred
- High degree of professionalism with the ability to work on highly confidential matters
- Strong financial, analytical, forecasting, and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills
- 7+ years of relevant experience in senior financial/accounting role as a controller or related position preferred
- Construction materials industry knowledge and experience a plus
- Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
- Strong presentation and communication skills
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the planning process to align financial forecasts and budgets with strategic objectives using historical data, economic trends, and market analysis
- Provide financial, operational and market intelligence to executive and regional management identifying areas of improvement and opportunity
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain investors and analysts while maintaining strong relationships with existing stakeholders
- Oversee communication with shareholders, potential investors, and financial analysts by providing regular updates, financial results, and strategic initiatives, ensuring transparency and clarity
- Present proposals and analyses related to above areas to executive and regional management as well as the board of directors
- Support due diligence of acquisition targets including market analysis and performance metrics
