Andover Pediatrics is growing! Established fast-paced, collaborative, multi-provider pediatric primary care practice looking for an experienced Pediatric Primary Care Triage Nurse (LPN or RN) to join our pediatric primary care team. Choose to work 3 or 4 days/ week (10 hr shifts, 8a - 6p or 7:30a - 5:30p), with consistent schedules. Minimal holiday and weekend rotation.
Andover Pedi is a busy private practice with 5 Pediatricians, 4 Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and Integrated Behavioral Health Therapists.
General Description: We seek a Triage Nurse who is responsible for providing appropriate health information to patients and parents as well as possesses the skills to triage the patients to the most appropriate level of care. S/he must utilize assessment skills in conjunction with established medical protocols when triaging or providing phone advice and education. This candidate should be passionate about providing patient – centered care and should be willing to make quality improvements to best service their pediatric patients.
Summary of Duties:
- Provides age – appropriate care for a wide patient panel, ranging from newborns to young adults
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans
- Manages the day – to – day delivery of high quality and efficient nursing care to patients and parents who call the practice
- Responds to all request for telephonic health advice
- Collects and analyzes pertinent data and assess patient need
- Under physician direction, notifies patient and/or parents of diagnostic test results
- Recognizes urgent and emergent situation and responds calmly and professionally in stressful situation
- Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner on the appropriate forms and EHR
- Engages in various educational and professional development trainings to enhance their ability to provide effective, efficient and quality care
Minimum Qualifications:
- Has a current LPN or RN nursing license and certified through Massachusetts’s state licensing board
- Has exceptional phone and communication skills
- Experience with and is comfortable working on a team
- Minimum of 2 yrs experience in a pediatric primary care phone triage
- Passionate about working directly with pediatric patients and their families
- Has experience with EHR (electronic health records) – Epic experience preferred
- Knowledgeable in AAP, CDC, and Barton Schmitt pediatric protocols
Experience using Epic preferred. Pediatric primary care telephone triage experience required.
