Job Title: JM Sheet Metal Mechanic - Field Fabricator/Welder
Department: Special Projects and Plan & Spec
Reports to: PM of Special Projects
Looking for a field welder/ fabricator that has an interest in doing field fabrication and installation work. The ideal candidate will have an interest in learning and performing HVAC/ Kitchen exhaust installation and fabrication work.
Job Description/Qualifications:
Support the installation team with various Plan & Spec Sheet Metal Installations, Kitchen Exhaust, HVAC/R and plumbing repair and replacement projects.
Perform welding, rigging and sheet metal repair and installation support.
Work will be performed on a variety of systems (kitchen exhaust, RTU, AHU & VAV).
Work will entail a variety of welding equipment and procedures with MIG welding experience
Experience using electrical and manual tools.
5 years of commercial construction field experience.
Perform field measurements and stock lists for the estimating and fabrication teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, extremely safety conscious, and willing to train/learn new technologies.
Proven experience as a welder is required.
Willing to take responsibility and lead a crew to meet project schedules
Willing to work non-traditional hours
Requirements:
License Required:
Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
Current Journeyman or Master Sheet Metal license
OSHA 10
Other:
An individual must show a willingness to continue to develop skills in the HVAC/R trade as part of the continued learning process. Also the individual who holds this position is required to take part in 150 hours of related course work per year until they acquire their Refrigeration Technicians license.
