Minimum required skills
- BS in Engineering, Atmospheric/Geo Science, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics with 4+ years of experience in scientific data processing, or MS with 2+ years experience.
- A recent MS or PhD graduate in the geophysical sciences with Python experience during their research work may also be considered.
- 4+ years of scientific Python using Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, and similar
- Be a US Person for export control purposes according to 22 CFR 120.15.

Additional Skills
In addition to the minimum skills listed above, a strong candidate will also have experience which exercised one or more of the following additional skills.
- Polynomial interpolation, extrapolation, and time-series resampling
- Parallel programming in Python
- SQL
- Remote sensing development and applications
- FIR and IIR filter design and implementation in software
- DevOps
- C++11 or newer, including PyBind11, FFTW, Eigen or related scientific data processing libraries.
Bonus Points
While experience in our industry or an adjacent industry is not required, an exceptionally strong candidate may have experience in one or more of the following application domains:
- GNSS signal processing or radar applications
- Atmospheric sciences, esp variational data assimilation
- Coherent electromagnetic signal propagation
- Software-defined radio
- Weather data analytics
- Academic publications in a related field
What You Will Be Doing
- You will be part of a team developing a state-of-the-art, global, atmospheric/geophysical remote sensing system using a constellation of smallsats focused on weather, space weather and climate applications.
- We're looking for an experienced, driven, and highly-technical scientific software engineer who wants to build crazy stuff from the ground up.
- You will be employing your skills in scientific data processing and analytics to develop the next generation of atmospheric radio-occultation preprocessing and assimilation software.
- You will design, code, test, and debug new and existing features in a Linux-based cloud-hosted computing environment.
- You will participate in agile planning and code reviews, hitting deadlines according to the predicted schedule.
- Operate in a hybrid workplace, at least three days per week in our Golden, CO office.
