PART-TIME FACULTY: Art and Art History - (UI Graduate Certificate Program)
Position location: Kingston
This position is part-time academic year, non-union faculty, on the URI Internal Payroll.
Qualified candidates who are not selected for employment for fall semester 2024 will have their applications remain active for two (2) years should a future opportunity arise during the 2025-2026 instructional year, September 1, 2025-August 31, 2026.
The Department of Art and Art History in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks part-time faculty to teach online graduate courses for the UI Graduate Certificate Program on a per-course basis. Areas of instruction include UI Design Styling and Prototyping, UI Motion Design, UI Information Visualization, and UI Design Principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:
A selected candidate will teach one (1) or two (2) courses in the Department of Art and Art History. Courses are asynchronous and delivered in an accelerated 7-week format. Part-time faculty are not required to engage in research or service activities but must hold regular office hours and be available to assist students enrolled in their courses. They are expected to stay current in their fields of instruction and with pedagogical methods and instructional technologies. Online teaching requires certification and possibly training by the University. Courses are three (3) credits.
