Responsibilities
- Assist in FAA-certified tests in engineering projects and activities of the company. Projects include the design, optimization, integration, and test of flight-worthy FAA-certified (STC).
- Support design activities by researching and recommending, or specifying components or technologies
- Researching, recommending, or specifying components or technologies.
- Capture requirements and features from customer and company leadership, and distill them down to actionable, traceable, and measurable wants and needs. Monitor compliance throughout the design lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or an associate degree and equivalent level of experience.
- 1-3 years experience in mechanical engineering. Aerospace engineering is an asset.
- Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Collects and researches data. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to break complex tasks into systematic instructions. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Continuously seek to develop “Best Practices” processes that result in efficient utilization of resources and strive to produce repeatable cost/schedule/quality results within quality systems.
- Works within the approved budget. Designs for Cost and Manufacturability.
- Highly organized, and excellent file /recordkeeping. Prioritizes and plans work activities. Uses time efficiently. Plans for additional resources. Sets goals and objectives. Develop realistic action plans.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks CAD, MS Office Suite, MRP software, PDM Vault, and AutoCAD (a plus).
- Prior FAA experience (a plus)
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
