Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Advanced Product Development, the Development Engineer II is responsible for the development and validation of gas and diesel engine products, systems and components. The Chief Engineer works on multiple highly complex projects requiring innovative, original solutions and acts as a global liaison to new-business and product launch teams. Supports the engineering department as a Liaison.
Essential Responsibilities:

Develop engines and provide program management for gas and diesel (Weichai) engine projects.

Complete engine application work for gas engines at PSI as well as at customer sites.

Act as global liaison with Weifong, our partner in the M series, navigating and coordinating the engine release and quality resolution processes of each company utilizing cultural competency and professional relationships to resolve issues on highly complex major projects requiring innovative, original solutions. Makes process and management improvements

Provide market information collection and analysis, benchmarking research and product certification support and coordination.

Ensures product design release fulfills company and client's strategic goals while integrating the needs of marketing, sales and manufacturing departments.

Effectively communicate recommendations for problem resolution to the expectation of the company and client.
- Improves the quality, performance, and efficiency of existing products. Provides support to product testing and troubles the products as needed.

Act as global liaison between the new business and product development teams.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
-
Strong subject matter expertise and directly applicable product development experience in gas and diesel engine design, engine performance, document release process, international applications, and validation requirements.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with global partners, vendors, product managers, applications engineering, marketing, manufacturing while to deliver improved engineering and quality processes resulting in better product offerings. Bilingual Chinese and English

Travel up to 20% within the U.S. and to global locations if necessary to support partnerships and customers.
