Job Summary:
Trileaf is seeking a full-time Sr. Project Scientist with 1-5 years of field experience conducting environmental due diligence work on telecommunications and commercial real estate projects, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs) and Phase II ESAs and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Review Reports. This position is based in our Austin, TX office.
Essential Job Functions:

Travel to project location, take detailed notes and photographs of site (2-3 days per week)

Conducting interviews, in person, via email, and phone
-
Ordering & analyzing government database records
-
Performing regulatory agency file reviews
-
Reviewing historical data (including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs)
-
Drafting of a standardized report using information from these various sources
-
Perform QA/QC to the satisfaction of both management and clients
-
Completing requested revisions & submitting report within pre-established timelines
-
Conducting field work to collect samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media (soil, groundwater, and soil vapor) and/or indoor air
-
Compare analytical contaminant data collected to applicable regulatory standards
-
Ability to conduct a preliminary screening of listed and/or proposed threatened and endangered species and critical habitat
-
Reviewing publicly available databases such as the National Wetlands Inventory and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps
