YOUR ROLE AT OUR PRACTICE:
You provide excellent and consistent assistance to physician(s) with patient care, including obtaining history and chief complaint and assisting with any in-office procedures. You also provide empathetic and accurate patient education on treatment plans and medication and consistently and accurately complete pathology and lab requisition documents.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
· Educate patient as required after physician establishes the treatment plan
· Ensure that the patient understands the treatment plan
· Escort patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times
· Obtain/confirm medical history at every visit
· Set up exam room according to scheduled procedure or anticipate physicians needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely
· Dictate while in exam room with the Physician and ensure daily dictations are complete and signed off by the end of the day
· Maintain superior standards of hygiene and cleanliness, preparation, cleaning, stocking, and closing of rooms, preparing of biohazard bags/sharps for disposal, performing all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization, and assuring all robes are cleaned and stocked daily
· Triage patient calls
· Mail out preoperative booklets
· Assist in prepping preoperative charts
· Email implant PDF
· Call upcoming pre-ops two weeks prior to scheduled appointment to remind them what is due when they come in for pre-op.
· Obtaining clearance from PCP/specialist as needed
· Draw up injections (Botox, Kenalog, etc.)
· Perform other duties and tasks as needed
YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· College degree preferred
· Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred
· Record of continuous work in the medical field
· Experience in the plastic surgery/aesthetic field preferred
HOW YOU’LL BE REWARDED:
Medical Assistants earn an hourly pay rate between $20 and $24 (equal to an annual salary of $41,600-$49,920) plus the potential for performance-based incentives.
